Quarantine Dream: My “New Normal”

“New Normal”...I keep hearing it everywhere. People talking about what it will be like. Folks saying it’ll never be the same again. Don’t get me wrong, I’m eager to see what our “new normal” looks like too once this is all over, but can we please not forget about the here and now. Like, hello, can we please focus on getting through the right now, this moment.  Transitioning your entire life to fit into the walls of your home and now using video communication for 95% of all interactions is tough. It can feel so overwhelming. Discombobulating. Disorienting. For folks like me, change is hard and avoided. I will avoid change at all cost if it means I get to stay in my comfort zone of everything being as expected. I already worked from home so that wasn’t my biggest change. Mine was having my partner work from home, too. I was used to having the house to myself. The whole house was my office essentially. I could do as I please and film wherever I needed or wanted. Gifts for Every Badass Lady in Your Life

Gifts for Every Badass Lady in Your Life Valentine's Day is such a commercialized holiday, I get it. Not everyone loves to recognize love, but… I’m not one of those people! I love V-day! It really just entices my hopeless romantic side. In my teen years, A Walk to Remember and The Notebook were among my favorite movies that I could watch on replay and cry every time I saw it as if it was the first time. What can I say? Sometimes our gratitude for one another takes a back seat because of the overwhelming to-do list that comes along with having a baby. I challenge you to take this Valentine’s Day to recognize the love that it took to get this child here and remember the passion you have for your partner. If you’re expecting a baby, your life is about to change forever. In a really good way, but in a way that is going to test your relationship and you need compassionate unde...

HeHe Goes Green

HeHe Goes Green!  Silky, Scrunchy, or Crunchy?  Honestly, who cares? Not me. Sounds a little harsh, but I want you to choose what you think is best. You know your body, your baby, your family, and your goals better than anyone, so you choose. I just want you to know about your options. I want you to choose whatever you want, but only because you want to, not because you think it's your only choice.  Where do I fall? Scrunchy, mostly, with a deep dig of crunchy. I have recently begun to be hyper aware of what I am putting in my body. I work with trying to conceive, expectant, and new parents every single day. I should be on top of my game for products that are available for alternative choices.  With this research, I began to see how unhealthy some of the daily products I was using actually were. I was uber-aware at that point that everything I put on my my skin or hair/scalp/eyelashes is soaked into my body. I began to think about what I was doing to ...
